The CLC is an open and inclusive gathering of people and organizations with a vision of a community-based system of services and supports that truly empowers individuals and families to make decisions about how they lead their lives in the community. October 11, 2002
Ø Knowledgeable about, and supportive of, the Community Living Coalition’s vision Ø Is an individual, a family member of a person who will require support from the new Governance Authority, or a service provider representative who is dedicated to the CLC’s vision Ø Has email access and is proficient with the internet Ø Agrees to be kept up to date on: i) developments within MCFD; ii) CLC minutes, resolutions, efforts to pressure government; unresolved issues and challenges; and iii) TSC minutes, resolutions and unresolved issues Ø Able to arrange and facilitate community meetings in order to share and discuss with interested people the latest information from the CLC, MCFD and CLTSC Ø Will assist individuals who aren’t internet proficient, or lack access, to obtain required information, including researching and advising people about local resources that can be used to access the internet Ø Agrees to assist people who require services and supports by informing them about the process they can use, or referring them to others who can assist Ø Will gather necessary information (e.g. waitlists; local service issues; seek responses from the CLC to questions posed by the community that cannot be answered, etc.) Ø Participates as needed in video or conference calls with other community facilitators and CLC Ø Will develop and communicate support to government for the CLC’s vision in conjunction with the CLC Community Living Coalition Commitment to Community Facilitators: Ø The CLC will provide community facilitators with information as it becomes available publicly, and answer questions posed by community members in a timely manner. Ø The CLC will endeavour to provide a small amount of petty cash to each community facilitator to cover out of pocket costs for such items as photocopies of bulletins, etc. Alternatively, we will identify service providers within local communities who are willing to cover these costs.
