- Meeting called to order at 11:45 am
- Introductions were made around the room
- CLTSC Updates
- HR & Finance: Committee is tasked with determining the total assets and
resources that should come to the new authority. A separate savings
sub-committee has been negotiating a protocol approved by MCFD that would
allow creative options - approved by all involved (family, individual,
agency & Ministry) to be pursued with acknowledgement of savings towards
next year's budget. A target of 6% savings across all regions is
suggested. Motion: That Coalition requests that government make
available all proceeds of the sale of community living institutional
properties to the New Provincial Authority. It is understood that the
resources will take into consideration the outcomes of the administrative
review of Woodlands School. Moved by Al Etmanski, seconded by Greg
Schiller. CARRIED This motion will be taken to the TSC by Jo
Dickie and Susan Whittaker.
- IF & Planning: One presentation has been made to the whole TSC, with
further work now being done to finalize a proposal.
- Accountability Committee: Committee is attempting to move to an
accountability environment based on individuals and their quality of life.
They are attempting to come to some recommendation on Accreditation and are
discussing the new legislation, Bill 16, for a new Community Care Facility
Act. Committee members are looking for feedback on Accreditation and

- Moved by Al Etmanski, seconded by Ron W. that the TSC Working Group
Chairs take responsibility for pulling together a Framework of the Final
Report and bring this to the next Coalition meeting on August 8th for full
consideration and ongoing consultation and direction. CARRIED
- Moved by Al Etmanski, seconded by Susan W. the Working Group Chairs meet
with the Community Chair, David Driscoll to ensure enough resources are
available to continue proper research, write the report, consult with
families and individuals, and receive feedback from families and
individuals on the report. CARRIED
