Good Morning Everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that representatives of the Community Living Coalition made the presentation to the Minister and the Deputy yesterday afternoon.  To all of us there, even the Minister and the Deputy, it felt like an historic occasion for families and for the community living movement.  There to make the presentation were Al Etmanski, Mildred De Haan, Patti Van Pelt, Jordan Thurston, Linda Perry, Maria Glaze, Laney Bryenton and myself.  It went very well.  The Minister was very encouraging with his remarks at the close of the meeting - he said he and his staff would spend the weekend going over it.

I have attached copies of the proposal exactly as it was presented including all the final edits agreed upon at the Coalition meeting on Thursday.  If you have older versions in your possession, posted on the web or in circulation, you should do your best to retrieve those and replace them with these.

Thanks to all of you for your incredible support.  Both Al and Laney in their comments to the Minister talked about the coalition representing "an unprecendented coming together of people with disabilities, their families, friends and service providers" and "unity in the community living movement that has not been there in the last 40 years".

It was quite a remarkable moment.

Regards, Doug
